The second semi-final of the ICC Championship Trophy 2025 was played between New Zealand vs South Africa in Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai, on March 5, 2025. New Zealand elected to bat first after winning the toss.
Will Young and Rachin Ravindra started their inning for New Zealand. Rachin Ravindra scored 108 runs in 101 balls. Later, Kane Williamson added another century and made 102 runs in just 94 balls. Due to these batters, New Zealand set a target of 362 runs in 6 wickets. Lungi Ngidi of South Africa took 3 wickets, followed by 2 wickets taken by Kagiso Rabada. Ryan Ricketton opened the inning for South Africa with Temba Bavuma. Later, David Miller scored an unbeaten century in just 67 balls, followed by 69 runs and 56 runs by Rassie van der Dussen and Tumba Bavuma, respectively. At the end, the South African team could not chase the target and scored only 312 runs by losing their 9 wickets. Mitchell Santner of New Zealand took 3 wickets, followed by 2 wickets each by Matt Henry and Glenn Phillips.
